Thank you to all the parents who donated food/drink for the Back to School Social.
Encourage your child to attend socials. It’s a great opportunity for our students to connect outside of the classroom. We will keep you updated through Twitter/Remind101. We will also make sure it is a safe environment.

We will have a Halloween and Christmas party. All it requires is you allowing us to use your home. The Choir Council will come early and set up & clean up afterwards.

Concert Reminders

The ladies need a long black dress to the floor for the Christmas Concert. Quarter sleeved, short sleeved, or long sleeved. No strapless or sleeveless dress. It must be in the dress code. There are many you can buy on Amazon. Words of advice, please order them early due to covid ect.

Tuxedo Fittings- Mrs. McGinnes & Mrs. Drummond will come up to the school a couple times during the next month and fit our men for tuxedos. This would begin September and have them sized by October.
Fundraisers

Fall Fundraiser- we need every student to sell at least one ad. Please help us out with this fundraiser. It will help our program tremendously. We need funds in order to give away scholarships and other miscellaneous items at the end of the year. If the concert is cancelled due to covid we will advertise the ads virtually through our Twitter & Website.The deadline for ads:
Fall concert: October 1st
Christmas Concert: December 6th
Spring Show: May 3rd

Spring Fundraiser- Choir Dinner Show “A Night At The Grammys” -January 22nd- CHS Commons- 6-8pm. This is an opportunity for our students to showcase their talent and raise funds for the program. Parent support is crucial in making this event successful. We will begin planning details for this event at next month's meeting. Feel free to email ideas or questions you might have concerning this special night at arussell@cantonisd.com. Please mark your calendar and plan on taking part in this special night/fundraiser. Also, consider being a sponsor and paying a little extra to be recognized throughout the night and sit at the front.

Three electric keyboards for our practice rooms & to help with sectionals
Three-four professional stage lights for our dinner show/Spring Show
Three standing risers for concerts
Voice Lessons
Private Voice Lessons Offered at the CHS Choir room on Friday.

Dr. Susan Carter has retired and relocated to the East Texas area. We are very fortunate to have her willing to drive to CHS every Friday after school to teach our choir students. Private lessons are a worthy investment for our choir students' vocal health, stamina, and confidence.

Canton High School Choir Shirt 2021-2022
This is going to be our t-shirt design for the school year. They will cost $15 for a regular size and a 2x will be $16 each. These will be the shirts that we wear to most of our concerts and any other events we go on in which we are representing our school. This will also be the same design for our long sleeved shirts we will be selling for $24 each but those are not required for you to buy.
The order form will be due back by September 4th.If you are paying with cash, Please have the exact amount needed. If paying with a check, Please make the payments out to "Canton High School Choir". Remember to put payment in a envelope with: Name, Class Period and amount!!
Shirts cannot be ordered unless payment is received by student. Students who have a genuine financial problem should see Mrs. Russell. Thank You!!
